HSC7 Game 20: Pole Position

Trying to keep these MilkRunners on our heels ... at last 78,750 on Atari GP. There's definitely a big issue with that bunch of cars, had a great go, lap 3 or 4 stuck at 118mph for ages on last bend and all my precious time was drained away - any hints on what to do apart from crash into the bleeders I could try braking I suppose

OK just one more go now! (x5)

 

p.s. I did manage to take two other cars out in one crash! (is that an achievement Well I was pleased with myself anyway )

Just got 93,150 in Atari Grand Prix. Made it to 7th lap and then crashed a few times just for fun. Also got 103,550 in Race E, but no picture currently (shouldn't affect the results).

Improved my qualifying time on Datasoft 500 to 58'45, tied my race A high score, and have run race E many times in futility.

 

I'll try to beat the Pooh once again on Race E, one more time, and then call it a night. Good morning to all the UK folks. I see snow on the Trafalgar Square webcam. We have snow here too. Nice and chilly.

Okay, I just completed race E at 105,450. A bit nonchalanted it at the end when I knew I would finish with 75 seconds left going into lap 8. Picture is in my camera but no way to transfer image. I used my relative's camera for the Grand Prix image before he went to sleep. If you play Atari Grand Prix 2 hours like I did today, the Namco race will seem like a joke.

 

Yeah, there's snow here-- a blizzard (2 foot in NJ). That's why our holiday get together is in "extended play" mode until the flights/roads are in operation.

Please check these scores guys as I am relying on your posted team summaries to keep this updated (Race details are in Post #1)

 

Here's an alternative hint to using the border or brakes although too late but helped me get past the hump in races E and G: certain patterns repeat in races E and G. For example, in lap 1 race G, you usually get a slow car on left and two fast ones on the right so you wait in the left lane and jerk right after the 2nd car -- that keeps you on the road and avoids accident, brakes, and border. It's hard to remember patterns but there's 3 or 4 that always occur in the first few laps in G. That's enough to get you past 3 laps without an accident and build up a good time. Once you crash, the pattern may not occur as the timing is all screwed.

Yeah, I meant D. It was hard remembering post 230 race letters and best scores for various people. Anyways, I had to put in a few hours as I couldn't afford to lose by 4K with 4Ks on our team.

Might not have made much difference since I only had about 80k. Then again, I wasn't focused on those.
