Well, with eleven more days until the launch of the Oprah Winfrey Network, I finally get the news about what TIME on New Year's Day it will start: Noon Pacific/Eastern, 11am Central. Now let's just get the facts straight: I am a guy, I don't like Oprah Winfrey, but this is the first time ever that I will witness the launch of a new cable channel. And I am taping it for posteriority, just like I taped KGW 24/7 (channel 8.2) three days after it first went on the air. Locally, I have not been able to view such things, whether it be Viacom, TCI, or Comcast, I have not seen a new station redesign. They used to add channels like months after they first aired. So shortly before 9am, I will be seated in front of the TV with it tuned to channel 220, just in case they are wrong and it comes on at 9am Pacific. I will look at the on-TV programming guide before just to make sure I don't tape three hours' worth of the final minutes of the Discovery Health Channel. I'll tape...
