It supplies three different voltages, and sometimes one of them stops working. Just a blank screen and no sound. Someone told me once that the power supply is often the problem. What are you using to connect it to a tv, if using a NES type r/f adapter get rid of it and get a striaght through connector. Here is the cheapest one I found on ebay with a quick search. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 390275695230 If you have a meter the PS outputs 12+, 5+, and -5 volts, IIRC.
