I had played the NES game a few times at a friend's house when I was a kid, but the first Top Gun game I really got into was the PC game from last year. I got it for $2.50 during the Steam holiday sale and beat it on Christmas day. The story didn't really make much sense to me in the game. Having seen the movie, it's apparent that they were trying to adapt the movie story entirely into dialog while showing planes flying. It also completely ignored certain characters and parts of the plot like Charlie and everything she did. However, now that I've seen the movie, it was rather light on story to begin with. The game traded the romance plot for more missions and action. I found myself asking "um, more planes?" all the time while watching the movie. Charlie had a mature sexiness that I appreciated, but the whole storyline took me off guard.
