Mr.Platypus
Hello everyone. Something really strange happened to me the other day, and I would like to share this with you. Furthermore, I would really like to know if others who try this get the same result. I've tried posting this on other forums, but everyone seems a bit skeptical. 1. Plug in a Midnight Mutants cart. 2. Plug in a genesis controller in port 1. 3. Turn the power on. The Atari logo will show up, but then you will get a blank screen. 4. Unplug the genesis controller. Don't turn the power off. 5. Wait about 4 hours. 6. Midnight mutants will boot up! I've tried this a few times, and it always works if you do these steps. Try it, and let me know if it works for you. the.golden.ax
I'm not saying it doesn't but what is the benefit of doing this? AX
Mr.Platypus
Well for one, if you timed it right, you could really freak out your friends! I find it deeply puzzling and unusual. It's okay if you don't think there's any point in it; I just wanted to share this with others who enjoy this kind of oddity.
the.golden.ax
It's odd to be sure, just not sure I'd hang around waiting to see it happen. It must have been a chance occurrence. AX

HammR25
You left your console running for 4 hours after the game wouldn't work?
Austin
You could do it, go to bed, and see if the game appeared by the time you wake up.

Chris Leach
I once sat in a burger king bathroom for 4 hours on the toilet with my pants down......at just about the very second the 4 hour mark hit, the burger king manager came in and asked that I leave the restrooms......

toiletunes
Waiting 4 hours for a game to boot up- are you sure you weren't using a modern console?
svenski
This is like waiting and watching for all your electrical cables to tangle themselves up underneath your desk. They always seem to do it when I'm asleep..... damn those dancing power leads.... damn them to hell

+save2600
What happens if you keep the Genesis controller plugged in, but you removed the cartridge after four hours? That should give the magic smoke plenty of time to seep into the system, allowing you to play carefree, using your imagination that you're controller Herman instead of Grampa
Mirage
4 hours doesn't seem so long to wait, really. It's still faster to boot than a stock Commodore 1541 drive.
+Propane13
Taking it a little more seriously (the poor guy only has 2 posts), I wonder if anyone gets the blank screen, at the very least? -John
toiletunes
I'd like to try this sometime. I have a 7800 and a genesis controller, all I need is Midnight Mutants.
Rik
I had a similar problem with Midnight Mutants, will NOT work with 3rd party controllers at ANY time, with all the ones I have anyway.I had the same problem, and as soon as I plugged in the pro-line, problem solved. The screen would just be totally black.Several members had that problem and I mentioned this over a year ago, and i don't know why more have noticed this.
