Yellow355F1
What you see there is a crude bypass of the Start, Pause, Reset buttons of controller 1 on my 2 port, you touch the white wire to the Green, Yellow, and Red to trigger the desired response. It was like that when I got it and, did come in handy as the buttons had quit working on the controller. Anyone else ever seen anything rigged like that. At least the soldering is decent. ClausB
Yes, I did the same thing on my nephew's 800, where the yellow Start button had failed.
Yellow355F1
I think it is a pretty good idea just wish it was a little cleaner. I would like to make a cleaner setup by using micro switches, and make a little pad I can mount on the system with 2 sided tape. That idea sounds better than trying to remove them. The kit to refurbish the controllers will fix the issue but, other than just clipping them unsoldering them may cause more harm than good. 0078265317
Or would it be possible to cut buttons directly into the console. So build a start pause and reset directly into the console to iliminate the need for the controller. So I can use my wico and no need for a keypad. bohoki
looks like you need to wire them up to a little project box with some pushbuttons that way you could use some velcro to attach it to the console or have it be a wired remote never see so much trouble to make something that odd just touching the exposed ends together for years i just had the top bezel taken off and hit the start pause and reset contacts with a penny Edited April 2, 2011 by bohoki
Chuplayer
never see so much trouble to make something that odd just touching the exposed ends together It looks like my Saturn region mod, but I use alligator clip wires to make the connections and keep a chart next to my Saturn so I know which wire does what. 0078265317
for years i just had the top bezel taken off and hit the start pause and reset contacts with a penny I use a screw driver. Never tried a penny. Anyhow the box thing sounds cool. What would be involved in building the box?
bohoki
to build your control box you need an enclosure be creative (i like the .22lr cci boxes) but a altoids tin or many other metal and plastic candy boxes a cassette tape box just something to mount your buttons to 3 momentary push buttons preferably round with top nut a drill bit the size of the push button threaded shaft a soldering iron and solder a little length of stripped wire to link all the buttons if you dont care how it will look you could just mount some switches to a perf board
Rex Dart
Why not just mount a couple of buttons on the rear of the system?
