Nobody knows why it is not pausing?

 

From the manual that was linked above at http://www.atarihq.com/5200/manuals/frogger.html, it states:

 

"Note: The frantic pace of Frogger may leave you breathless, but don't try to catch your breath with the PAUSE button. There's no stopping the fast-paced action of the game!"

 

If you ask me, this sounds like the non-pausing was a known bug, and rather than just have the developers fix it, marketing just decided to spin it into a "feature".

Could you pause in the 8-bit version of the game? If not I'm guessing they just didn't feel like adding that feature in for the 5200 port.
