Lilralphie
VBXE5200 is accessible here: http://www.apple2gs.republika.pl/VBXE5200.rar Thanks Eightbitter
rayik
Hi all Here you are attached necessary files to make VBXE inXL/XE/5200 Thank you eightbitter for providing your files. They were 28Mb in size. Since the maximum attachment size is 25MB, I split them into two zip files and attaching them to this and the next post. Again thank you VBXE5200 part 1.zip

ruthsarian
Am I reading the instructions right? I would need to reprogram the VBXE to version 1.02 and that's done by hooking the VBXE up to an XL or XE computer?
MEtalGuy66
If that's the case, just shoot a note to Lotharek before you order it. I am sure he can do that for you before he ships it if you are unable to do it yourself.. But yeah, you want the FPGA core that does the 31khz output without all the AMIGA-like graphics mode enhancements.. valthonis
Sorry to resurrect this, but does anyone offer installation services for this on a 5200?
Lilralphie
On reading the instructions, it looks like this was designed for the 2 port 5200. Would anyone anticipate a problem with a 4 port?
ApolloBoy
Sorry to resurrect this, but does anyone offer installation services for this on a 5200?I don't think so considering eightbitter's the only one who's done it so far. Wanting RGB on the 5200 is a pretty niche thing to be honest so there probably wouldn't be much interest in installation services. Plus the VBXE is overkill if you just want RGB output. Lilralphie
Thanks! I agree it might be overkill but I'm not sure of any other way to do it LOL
ApolloBoy
I agree it might be overkill but I'm not sure of any other way to do it LOLIt'd be nice if someone designed something similar to the 2600RGB for the Atari 8-bit line and the 5200. I don't need the extra functionality of the VBXE (which is all currently useless on the 5200 anyway), just something that will provide nice 15 KHz RGB.
spaceman
It might be niche, but I would pay for one! All my other system are RGB modded and amazing on a SCART TV, I wish someone would offer an install for the Atari 5200!

Anyone here able to help get it programmed for this mod? I also have contacted Tim Worthington who did the 2600RGB mod. He has no plans to support the 5200. So this is it atm. ApolloBoy
Looks like we might have something akin to a 5200RGB after all: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/258702-new-development-gtia-in-cpld/
Lilralphie
Could anyone help me get the 5200 files on a 5.25" floppy to update the VBXE?
ApolloBoy
Considering the GTIARGB is nearing completion I'd personally wait on that rather than getting a VBXE.
