Level 2: Stay in the centre, slightly off the ground unless you're being fired at. Only move away from there if you hear that your shots are hitting the brick towers, moving back when able to do so. For the end of level bosses, maintain your location in the centre of the screen, firing rapidly before they can do any damage. If you're not quick enough getting rid of them, make sure to keep moving around the screen.

 

Can anyone provide me with some hints and tips for level 3? There's too many obstacles that I keep hitting, even with rapid firing.

I suggest playing the original in MAME to get a good feel for the game. You can keep inserting coins to get unlimited lives.

 

The enemy movements and obstacles are easier to track in the original. Once you've got a good gameplay strategy there, it will be easier to approach Sheddy's version.

General tips:

 

Try not to go back on yourself too soon (go round in circles) as alien missiles are always launched at your current position

 

It's not instantly obvious, but there is a lock-on feature that makes hitting things a lot easier. When you are in line of sight of an alien you'll hear a short chirping noise. Fire now and your bullet will chase that alien down, giving an almost guaranteed kill. It can't go through solid objects though!
