ataridave
Is this adapter compatible with any Atari 2600 homebrew games? Or do they not work?
BassGuitari
I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible. The VCS Adapter is basically a self-contained 2600 system that plugs into a 5200 and uses its RF and power supply. If a 2600 homebrew works in a 2600, it should work in a VCS Adapter.
Cobra Kai
Is the VCS adaptor literally a 2600? Not that I would want to do this, but in theory could someone figure out a way to put AV jacks on it, give it power and use it as a standalone VCS? And put the guts in a smaller case. No need to mod the adapter.

He's wondering if, for shits and giggles, the VCS adapter could be made into a working standalone VCS. He's not interested in the 5200 at all.

Exactly, more just as a goof, just was wondering if it's possible.
