7800 Tower Toppler ROM question

While playing, the Tower Toppler ROM downloaded off Atari Age.

 

By, castle 4, "slippery delight"... I had a problem, after jumping over the two sparkling particles.

 

Near the start of the level,... I go up one floor, and at this part of the game, you need to shoot down the "block" straight ahead to clear away the next elevation lift... and it is NOT working! I shoot over and over while I'm on my platform elevator and it doesn't remove the "BLOCK" sitting above the next elevator!! Impossible to advance to castle 5 because of this...

 

Any Toppler experts notice this with the ROM?

 

Or am I missing something about castle 4?

I haven't had any trouble with that. I just walk as far to the right as I can and shoot the bugger, and it goes. Alternatively, go around to the left toward that elevator, and when you stand three or four floor blocks away, shoot it from there.

 

I wonder if there's a problem with the emulator, if you still can't clear that lift. I'm using ProSystem ver. 1.3 (05/12/2008) if I'm not mistaken.

 

I have noticed that if I fall a considerable distance, enemies and important floor blocks disappear. That tends to be annoying, and it has cost me my latest attempt to climb the Slippery Slide.

I'll have to try it again. Graphics are a little fuzzy compared to the home computer or NES.
