Tickled_Pink
@Arkanoid - Same here. Last freebie of any note I saw was about 4 years ago on Freecycle. Some ST hardware and a C-Lab Falcon in a rack. Didn't spot it until it was too late. Sick sick sick.
Tickled_Pink
Would you believe it? I decided to do a search for C-Lab Falcon and I find You can guarantee its the same guy who picked up the freebies.

AtariGeezer
Guess he didn't go back for the 2nd load. Just called the guy in Alpine since the ad is still listed on CL and it appears that the Vic-20's, 64's, monitors, disk drives and 40 boxes of C= software are still there... Some guy is up there now taking a look at what's left, if that guy doesn't claim it, I'll take a ride up on the bike and do a physical check of what's left and see if it would be worth while to get. If so, I'll get a u-haul tomorrow Jay
Subby
Son of a B. If I'd have known he didn't get it all... Ah, well, I guess that's what unemployment is for.
fibrewire
Yep, I didn't go back - the box truck is in the shop, some maintenance guy ran over something. I called Bill and said if nobody snatches everything up that I'll be back sometime in the next couple of weeks. I think it is a huge dissappointment of stuff (only because it's dirty and dusty, some rotting carcases) but he won't let the software go without taking the hardware. AtariGeezer: I think it's close enough - give him a call and take a ride up there!

Yep, I've called Bill about 45 minutes ago and he said that too. Told me to call back to see what that guy decides... He kept mentioning that "No pick-n-choosing" all or nothing. Even sounds hesitant for me to just look. How "Bad" of a dissappoinement is the hardware? rotten boxes, dirty or ??? Jay

Jay rotten boxes & dirty equipment. A lot of it is pre-disassembled!!! Other than that, the software is mostly NIB
AtariGeezer
Kinda had that impression it would be in that sorta shape He's not picking up the phone, so those other guys must have picked up the rest... Next time Jay

After such epic effort, I can only but re-instate my offer... : ) http://www.atariage....ost__p__2363522 Now comes the really hard part: cleaning and restoring all those "dead" carcases (sounds familiar to me)... so you can boost morale (well deserved) and recover (at least) the fuel cost... Mirage
So, I'm assuming this means it's going to add up to somewhere less than that previous $250,000 value estimate Edited September 12, 2011 by Mirage
fibrewire
So, I'm assuming this means it's going to add up to somewhere less than that previous $250,000 value estimate It was looking like this until i had to touch the stuff. I still have to get all the software, thats where the money is. But yeah, previous estimate was when I saw the stuff, i didn't realize it was all torn apart and dirty. Really dirty... I guess the guy has sold all the valuables over the last four years. And there is stuff inside his house that he's holding on to.
