Bryan
I always loved that 130XE page flipping demo that showed the 3D floppy floor. I don't remember the name of it.

Well, what the author of this youtube video does not know is that the shown A8 demos at the start of the video (Robot/Spaceship demo, The Swan demo, Fuji Boink demo) are all from *one* big file-demo, originally coded for the Atari 130XE ! So all demos were coded around 1984 and 1985 by XANTH! which is no other than Michael Park (also author of Amiga-Boink demo and Midi-Maze). Hackers and crackers splitted this one-file XE demo into several file demos, that worked on 48k and 64k machines (while the big one-file demo did only work on a 128k machine, like the 130XE it was originally written for)... just take a look at the attachment. And err, if you don`t believe - why does the spinning Fuji-logo show 130XE and Atari 8Bit Power from time to time...?!? All these demos were written for the CES 1985 afaik, while the Amiga Boink demo was written a little later - after M. Park saw it on the Amiga and thought the A8 could do this also (so the information in the video is wrong, the Amiga Boink really was first on the Amiga). Think M. Park also said this in an interview of PAGE 6 or Atari User or Page 6 / New Atari User or some other english magazine... Next, the Video Blitz demo originally requires a 128k A8 machine with sep. Antic access. Thanks to TeBe for a conversion of this demo (named "Video") and many thanks to Hias for patching the original Video Blitz demo, so that it now works on any 128k A8 machine even without sep. Antic access... -Andreas Koch. P.S.: And err, the "Vengeance" demo is great, but it was not written in 1991... Coincidentally, I've recently found an old article about Lucasfilm Games, stating that the Robot and Rocketship demos were created by Russ Karas and Jim St. Louis.
