Hydian
I just bought a 600XL and it plugs in, powers up, and plays carts, but there is no sound. I tried 2 TV's and even used different cables to eliminate that. Does anyone know what I can look at to try and fix this? Thanks.
jjessop
Do you hear nothing but static or white noise? If so you lost the 4.5 mhz audio oscillator. Open it up and find the orange 4.5 mhz audio adjustment coil (depends on who made the 600xl) and next to it should be 2 silver radial polystyrene 820 pf capacitors. Gently.......but firmly, with a pair pf needle noise pliers squeeze the body of each, no I'm not joking! Your sound will now come back in 95% of all cases. The above is for an RF hookup only. If you have no static or white noise sound the 4.5 mhz oscillator is running and it's probably a dead POKEY......but doubtful. Good luck! jerry

jjessop
Damn it.......a tougher problem then my friend jerry Let's see you must be going RF as a 600XL has no monitor output if I remember correctly?
