metzger130
I got a 5200 from a friend and one of the joysticks walk down and right ONLY. You can't stop it from doing it so I had to do a little investigating. I noticed that the end of the joystick is slightly bent where the joystick goes into the port on the console. After using a meter and then looking at it, I noticed that pin 9 (common pin for BOTH pots) is not connected. Is there a way to reconnect this? Not sure if this is understandable or not. If needed I can take a picture to show better what is wrong. Thanks
bohoki
if the joystick plug is bad you need to replace the whole cord since it is one piece
metzger130
That's what I was afraid of. I am thinking it would be better just to get a new joystick instead of trying to fix this one since I need that part and I need a new keypad since I'm missing about 4 or 5 numbers also. I'm not positive on the buttons either since I can start a game but wreck/get shocked/die however else very quickly before I can really test the buttons. With this problem though, will Best take it as a trade in or not?

You can clean your flex circuit and then super glue aluminum dots (aluminum foil hole punched) to the carbon dots on the fire buttons. Also S,P,R.
