jesusc
and if so, how come I can't find it on any lists of games for the Inty?
OldSchoolRetroGamer
Maybe that is for ColecoVision? http://www.colecovisionzone.com/photos/game/cart/colecovision%20pitfall%20ii%20cart%20full.jpg
pimpmaul69
it is the atari 400 cart. only the 5200 carts look like these as well except they are wider
pimpmaul69
Maybe that is for ColecoVision? http://www.colecovis...cart%20full.jpg the coleco are different if you look where the curve is, they stick out on the coleco carts.
jesusc
I don't think so. The board is too big. I don't have pitfall II on hand to compare it to, but here's a pic of my mystery cart on top of Colecovision donkey kong.
jaybird3rd
It looks like the 400/800 version to me, although I suppose it could be for the Commodore 64 as well.
+save2600
That's a C64 cart for sure. Edge connector is too wide to be an A8 cart and we all know Pitfall II was never released for Intellivision.
jesusc
Did the atari computer carts come in different widths for the carts and boards? Here's a pic of it up against star raiders.
jaybird3rd
Looking at it again, I think save2600 is correct. It looks like a Commodore cartridge for sure.

I just put it up against pitfall for the intellivision and the shell for this is just a bit larger than the pitfall shell. Mystery solved, thanks! townparkradio
That's a Commodore 64 cart. And I see i'm late to the party, lol. Edited February 15, 2012 by townparkradio
Atari_Bill
I've made the same mistake myself. Picked up a nice Inty cart only to find out it's for the C-64. Luckily I collect for that as well so no harm done.
pimpmaul69
yeah had you not shown the pin connector my guess could have been right. but yeah it is a c64. i forgot about the old c64.

I got Congo Bongo for Inty cheap (<$10) on ebay because the seller listed it for C64.

I'll have to remember that -- I made an effort to commit the various Congo Bongo label color schemes to memory for a similar reason (mixed lots of VCS and Intellivision stuff). Do I remember correctly that you can fry a C64 by plugging an Intellivision cartridge into it?
Rev
Too bad Pitfall II never made it to the intellivision. Im sure it was possible, no?
jaybird3rd
Too bad Pitfall II never made it to the intellivision. Im sure it was possible, no? Unfortunately, Mattel had already exited the video game business by the time Pitfall II was released in 1984, so Activision probably saw the Intellivision as a dead system by that point. And since Pitfall II was released for some ten different platforms (not including the arcade version), I doubt anyone is hurting for another version of it. krslam
Do I remember correctly that you can fry a C64 by plugging an Intellivision cartridge into it? 1st party Inty carts won't fit in a 64, at least not without really forcing it. Didn't try any 3rd party titles.

Here's our very own intvnut, aka Joe Z, on the subject: (In fact, if you want to destroy an Intellivision, simply plug a Commodore 64 cartridge in and power it up. You'll may blow the Inty's power supply, since the C64 cart will short +5 and GND.)
