+retroclouds
ok, I wanna dump a block of memory to disk, using assembly language. Anyone have a reference of what DSR calls I have to use for doing that ?
+OLD CS1
I believe I did a quick break-down of a utility which save chunks of memory from MiniMemory... (EDIT) Here and Here And, BTW, what is with all the broken PhotoBucket links? Do they expire after time? If so, that kinda sucks for posterity. lucien2
There is a nice exemple on page 293 of the E/A manual. You just has to change "READ" from 2 to 3 and change the "VMBR from pabbuf to buffer" by a "VMBW from buffer to pabbuf" and put that before the write operation. There is a typo: PNTR should EQUed to >8356 If you read C, you can check the source from RUSH HOUR: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/186797-rush-hour/page__view__findpost__p__2360340 Sometimes, it's more readable than a manual. Stuart
If you download the file ... <http://www.avjd51.dsl.pipex.com/ti/disk_images/Miscellaneous.zip> ... and extract the disk file <Miscellaneous.tidisk> from it, that contains the commented assembler source file <CART_RAM/S> for a little application to save the MiniMem RAM to disk, and to restore it again. sometimes99er
Depending on the nature and purpose of the dump, you should not forget Classic99's ability to easily make memory dumps. Enable Scroll Lock and press F10 to get a copy of CPU and VDP memory. MEMDUMP.BIN will then be 64K and VDPDUMP.BIN will be 16K plus the 8 VDP registers.
