Any joystick or keyboard is fine! Pics are encoraged here, however I WILL accept a no pic score. Anyone can jump in and play for a High Score and Ranking, if they like... Every score will be counted for the High Score Challenge also, even if you're not entered in the Winter 2600 Knockout. Everyone starts each game with a score of ZERO, one goal is to get above 0... or get a high score, if you don't you will be eliminated and the lowest score earned of the active KO players, is safe! A KING status will be awarded at the end of every round winner, as well as rankings and points. First place gets +15 points! From there on, 1+ less... For the K.O., you need not win, just not finish LAST! Let the battle begin... THIS GAME IS ALSO OPEN FOR HIGH SCORE CLUB POINTS AND RANKING! I expect my score will increase a lot before the week is through. Correction: I just found Moonsweeper in town today, so I'm only 2 titles away from a complete Imagic collection. Astroblast. i predicted the low score would be 25K. The low score was... 32,950 - Scrabbler15 30,870 - DTKofoed 26,975 - classicgamer_27330 Wow, I must say I was VERY close. My best prediction yet. The high scores were: 1,000,000 - Jifremok 408,760 - Gorfy 164,650 - JacobZu7zu7 Nice scores! Like I said, endurance was the key to first. How long did that take? 2-3 hours? Now onward to the TOP 10! Laser Gates: This game could have been good with a little more game play variety. But still it is a challenge and sometimes luck is involved when blasting homing missiles. Most people with a joystick will not have trouble breaking 30K. On a keyboard 30K is a good score and 40K is tough. So, I predict a low score of 42K will be needed to pass. Most of us have the game and most of us have a joystick. 42K might seem high but by Sunday, plus this is the Top 10, we all should be much better at this game. As for high score... well 80K looks to be possible and mighty impressive. My first submitted score: Vocelli: 22762 Good Luck to the Top 10 ! As for the 4th detonator I would say that no one has ever got to it. You won this round when it was season 6 week 38 with a score of 81k. The top TG score is not much higher at ~83k. A detonator is worth 6507 points. I would expect that anyone who can destroy the 4th detonator would have a score in the 85-90 range. Maybe this is the week! Takes me back! Anyway, I just beat my personal best from that week: 82,951! I still didn't see the last detonator and I was shooting a homing missle just as the game ended (not sure if I got the points for it or not.) My tips from that season are: 1. After clearing an obstacle, fly to the right as far as you can. You'll travel faster, geting the obstacle off screen faster, thus saving precious time. 2. Hide in the ditches. Homing missles will fly past you. Once they're by you, pop up, turn around and shoot 'em in the ass. 3. If your D-Time is running low and you're close to a detonator, don't shoot homing missiles. Let them fly off screen. Another enemy (or possibly the detonator itself) won't come on screen until the explosion is gone...and that animation wastes time. Tonight first score was just a little above the lower score Vocelli has predicted for the keyboard players (44,354). And this was a good night for improving my score, didn't expect to change this post twice to update my highest score! But to be honest, keyboard controls seems pretty good to me and I don't imagine how much better the joystick is for this game. Joystick may give a more precise control, but even with more "nervous" controls the game can be fully enjoyed. I'm using my high scores pictures as snapshost in stella, it's nice to see your record before entering the game.
