Need help hooking up a 7800

Okay, so I can't get my 7800 to work on my TV. I connected a coaxial to RCA adapter to the RCA Cable and put that into the coaxial input on the back of my TV. I turned the system on, but nothing happend. I tried channels 3 and 4, I tried 3 different RCA cables, and even the switchbox. I don't even get atari logo/menu screen. I tried this on 2 different 7800s, and I got the same result. Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Do you see any affect at all on the TV? Static, screen jiggle, anything? Have you tried the channel selector switch on the back of the 7800?

No, there's nothing at all. Yes, I've tried the channel selector.

 

My dad seems to have gotten it working on one of the old TVs, but I would really like to know why it won't work on a modern HD/LCD TV. An LG to be exact.

Well, because it's thirty years old would be my guess.

Make sure you have the right input. My TV has RF, Composite in front, Composite in back, Component, and HDMI. If you do not tell the tv to use RF (antenna), it will go back to the last input source and never see the signal on a different input.
