DracIsBack
Pacman Red - these characters are really creative, BTW!
Trebor
Absolutely, Pac-Man Red's graphics are really creative and extremely well-done. It can make worlds of a difference on the impression a game gives and its professional quality. Just look at the improvements he made to the Rampage characters in response to your 'challenge' Drac : http://www.atariage....to-pac-man-red/ That is like night and day. The detail on the 3 color is impressive and worlds better than the original. The 12 color looks as good if not better than the SMS version. It blows the NES out of the water. Bentley Bear and company with horrible bland or 'blob-like' characters would ruin this game. His graphics here are amazing, and Bob has done a superb job in making them shine in motion. PAC-MAN-RED
@DracIsBack - Thank you, and thanks to everyone who has enjoyed my work. Some of the enemy characters are from the original game(ex. Skeleton, Bee swarm, Gem Eater), while others like the Wisp(aka Floating Head), the Knight, and the Zombie are my doing. As Trebor said, without Bobs hard work at bringing them to life, they'd just be a bunch of pretty pixels on a screen. @Trebor - Couldn't have said it better myself. +Cafeman
5200 Moon Patrol has awesome multiple-layer parallax scrolling too. But it wasn't something we saw often on the Atari systems.

+davidcalgary29
Isn't there parallax scrolling in the underwater scenes in Tower Toppler for both the 7800 and the A8?

Stun Runner 87
Isn't there parallax scrolling in the underwater scenes in Tower Toppler for both the 7800 and the A8? Yes..... Speaking of Tower Toppler, I have a question....... How come Tower Toppler is the only cartridge with the "supercartridge" red print color and style on the label but doesn't actually say "super cartridge" on it?.......weird?............was it a mistake in the print? Anyone know? Edited July 19, 2012 by Stun Runner
+Stephen
Here's another example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flYEqNNSWGs That's really impressive, because it's overlapping parallax. Very nice, and on the 2600. Wonder how they managed?
Trebor
Here is some more captures. I forgot to mention earlier the cool day to night and night to day changes mid-level. In this batch you will also see the gradual loss of light as you enter the cave. By far my favorite scenes in the game so far are the last three posted. Again, these captures are not doing the game justice. You have to see it in motion while playing - extremely impressive and awesome.
Lendorien
This game looks amazing. It's probably one of the best looking plat-formers for the 7800 so far. It plays really well too. PacMan Red has done an outstanding job with the sprites. I wonder if it might be cool to have an intro "story" screen that explains the goal of the game, perhaps as part of the attract mode. A lot of games do this in the manual, but doing it in-game might add polish to the game. For bonus points, you could do screenies with text captions. A thought, though certainly you have a lot of stuff you're stuffing into that 144k.

Trebor
Here's the last batch. Remember up to Level 3 was "completed". Level 4 doesn't have much after Round 1. There’s one setup of a ramp/step-up, then just the castle wall background until reaching an 'end' with nothing further at this point. Stun Runner 87
This game proves that the 7800, had Jack T invested more work into it in the 1980s, could of possibly gave Nintendo Entertainment System a run for its money. The 7800 had the same capabilities as NES and Sega Master System. Thanks to Jack T, Atari 7800 never saw its true potential. This new game by PacmanPlus and PacmanRed potentially can prove that Super Mario Brothers (or games like it) could of easily been ported to the 7800 console had It been more invested into..Plus it would of helped if Nintendo not robbed the rights to most of the major video game makers at the time. I believe at the time, most video game developers were only allowed to make games for the NES, which left Segamastersystem and Atari7800 out in the cold.
