OldSchoolRetroGamer
Thanks for sharing and don't worry your gf did fine, considering the majority of those that make videos in the gaming community tend to try to do everything all by themselves lol, nothing but shaky cam all over the place for some reason most do not even try to mount the camera. I have a gold refurbed 5200 controller and yeah it took getting use to but not so bad really. Funny I have that portable Boxing game behind you there just loose no box. Brian R.
You repeat that often-heard-on-Youtube claim about the switchbox setting houses on fire. I think that's an exaggeration, and not based on any fact. Unless you or anyone can produce any evidence of that ever happening, I think that bit needs to be retired - along with the "omg the controller is a phone" crack. I've never had any trouble with the switchbox with my four port 5200. I've seen "sparks" from flipping a light switch, doesn't mean it's going to catch a house on fire. As for games, me, I woulda started with comparing PacMan. Frogger looks and plays fine on the 2600; the 5200 looks better but it's nearly crippled by that controller. Same with Space Invaders - it was the "killer app" for the 2600. The 5200 may have had better graphics, but went away from the arcade material. That said, doesn't it seem best just to avoid the 4 port when you can? The controllers are bad enough but if the switch box breaks, ugh! Calm down? Why? I am calm. It's an old & tired "joke," one just about everyone has heard to death.
Charlie_
People who know, know that people who complain about the sparks don't know to plug power in AFTER the RF / power wire is plugged in. Duh.
5200Fanatic
I thought the kid that died eating pop-rocks and soda burned his house down in 1983 playing the 5200? No?
