Prab
Hey all, After selling off my 2600 and most of the games last year, I was missing my oldschool atari fix. Picked up a 7800, and was wondering if NTSC 7800 games would work on my pal machine, I remember on the 2600 they would give colour issues was wondering if this is the case here aswell? gambler172
Most NTSC games work with glitches or different colours. But a few do not work at all. greetings Walter
Rybags
Old thread with some useful info - http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/65424-ntsc-games-that-work-on-pal-machines/ Best bet is to find out the game's behaviour before committing. As an example, Ballblazer starts up seemingly normal with music and some graphical glitches but crashes soon after, so an NTSC cart is useless on Pal. 7800 is different to 2600 in that the hardware determines how many scanlines are onscreen, not the software. So, software that assumes that certain things will happen/have happened can get into trouble.
