Chuck D. Head
I know the best solution for this is one of Ax's custom three in one power adapters, and I will get one in a few paychecks, but..... I got my 32x out for the first time in ages and found that I did not have the correct power supply. WTF did it go, I have no clue. Anyway, the 32x was packed up with a spare Gen 1 and two of the same Genesis power supplies in the box. Ignoring the fact that the plug end was tight, I crammed it in the 32x and got the same collapsed ghost image as I would with just the power to the Genesis. Can someone tell me the power specs for the 32x wall wart, so maybe I can find something to at least test my 32x? PS: I found a donor Gamecube supply for Ax to make into my 3-way. For those who haven't seen it, here is the thread on his power supplies: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/201252-sega-cd32xgenesis-power-upgrade-no-more-wall-warts/page__st__25__hl__+ax%20+sega%20+power?do=findComment&comment=2577377

the.golden.ax
Yup, it's a Genny 2 / Game Gear power supply you would normally use there. The Genny 1 is a negative tip, and the 32x is a positive tip. The polarity is wrong, even if you get it to fit. The specs are correct though, other than the polarity issue. I will use the adapter from the Gamegear, since I dont need to play GG tethered to the power supply anymore; since you modded it, my GG sips the power daintily (pinky extended) from the batteries!! Thanks for the info!
