Orphaned Atari 5200

So recently got a 5200 from eBay with a few games. My intentions were to take the moldings and joysticks etc and basically strip it of what I could to give it to my 2 port which has been a daily driver for the past 30 years. But what I didn't expect was that I couldn't do it. It looked at me it was in excellent condition and even worked. So I decided to keep it and even buy a case for it as well. There was no way I could kick a perfectly good 5200 to the curb after stripping her. Now my house has two machines

I have that same experience with all my hobby systems. I'll get another machine for parts, but if I can clean it and fix it to work I can't cripple it as a sacrifice.

Only with a broken system could I do it.

It was like a baby terminator looking at me so inocently with its one red eye. I was like a woman with a baby in a basket at my doorstep. Couldn't do it

Heck, use the controllers at least. It's not like you're crippling the system when you borrow a controller or two. I'm sure it would be happy to loan them out.
