7800 mod problem

Hey all, i just did the longhorn 7800 mod and i have a slight problem.

First of all the 7800 games look and sound great..........but the 2600 games have great sound but no picture. Its wierd, has anyone encountered this before and if so what is the fix?

A quick search of the boards reveals that the Longhorn mod is very problematic. More complaints about it than positive reviews.

 

I would check to make sure there aren't any bridged solder joints where the chip is removed for the socket. Could BA a bad TIA chip, but it just sounds like a short.

what are the common problems with the longhorn mod?

Mine has very low sound, have to turn tv up to full volume to hear anything, I think there is a fix listed on the board somewhere for that. Just haven't had time to deal with it yet.

Commando has a volume problem also. On mine, all you could hear was the gun fire... super loud. Couldnt really hear the music.

The two main problems I've come across are the quiet external audio and there's also a chroma interference problem with 7800 games. If you have both chroma signals hooked up, it creates diagonal interference lines on 7800 games and the only way you can stop this is by installing a switch for the 2600 chroma.

i dont have that line problem with my 7800 games. They look just fine. And the audio can be fixed with 2 resistors. I just cant see my 2600 games for some reason.

Yeah, I had that problem. I need one done with a switch, it is a must to have that switch.
