7800Lover
With my new apartment, I got a new flatscreen TV and just recently hooked up my Atari 7800. Unfortunately, it was hard to play because the game screen was blocked by snow and static. I remedied this problem (to an extent) by getting a signal splitter for a more secure connection to the TV. Unfortunately, I still get white flicker on the screen that makes the games very difficult to play. My theory is as follows: I use a 75-ohm to 300-ohm adapter to hook the RF connector box to the TV. Both the cable hookup on the back of the TV and the signal splitter is intended for a coaxial cable - the aforementioned 75 to 300 adapter is more a slide-on connection. This seems to be my problem. Any input? Any ideas on how I can improve the connection and get a clear screen when I play my 7800?
+Mitch
Ditch the 75 to 300 adapter and get an F jack male to RCA female adapter instead. Mitch
7800Lover
Thanks, Mitch. I'll give that a shot later on.
gorfcadet
I second Mitch, but I'll add some tv built in tuners don't handle the signal well so you also might run it through an old vcr then to the tv. That is how I do it and it really seems to help. Probably has to do with what some vcrs do to reprocess a signal.
