Michael David Morsette
I have been watching for and collecting Vectrex items for a little while now, and I have my collection pretty much where I want it for now. So now when I see some good deals I don't have to keep it to myself First item I wanted to share was this 3-D imager: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 230914880860 There have been a number of them up for sale recently but most have been in poor shape and at really high BIN prices. This one is complete and in really good shape, on top of that it is being auctioned and not BIN so it could be a really good deal.
Zwackery
Some people might like this news, while others might likely be irritated that you are promoting an eBay auction, attracting more attention, and potentially driving up the price. My feeling is that most people interested in a 3D imager for the Vectrex are already actively searching eBay for it. Depending on who you talk to on AA, some wouldn't be bothered by the posting but others might prefer posting after the auction is over (and then generally a week after closing). It's one of those debatable etiquette guidelines.
gliptitude
IDK, it's kind of a gross scene on ebay in my opinion, and I'm not sure etiquette has any meaning. ... I was trying to get one of the "Brand New Non-Working Vectrex Monitors" this weekend (bidding on one and losing, then moving onto the next, losing, moving onto the 3rd and final, losing). The same guy won all 3 auctions. I have seen the 3D imager listing linked above. I am very skeptical that this will end up being a better deal than the recent Buy it Now's. There are already over 30 bids, with several days left in the auction. ... There was a $600 BIN boxed one that recently sat for weeks. I will honestly be shocked if the current auction does not exceed $600. And consider on top of that how stressful and annoying and time consuming it will be to compete with all of these people, just for a CHANCE to pay all that money. In my experience, the high demand Vectrex items (like the 3D imager), have been completely absurd in auctions. Often times the auctions somehow generate more interest than the BIN's, and end up exceeding them in price. (I passed on a $30 CIB Space Wars BIN last month, only to watch one auction for over $50 this weekend). The only way I've gotten decent Vectrex deals on ebay is to buy large lots. Also I think we're still in a peak Seller's Season, with Christmas and then tax returns coming. Summer may be a more favorable time for buyers. ... Sometimes too, the time of day/week when the auction ends can be a factor in how competitive an auction is, (if it ends at 4 in the morning on a Wednesday it is going to have less last minute activity than a Sunday evening). ilovethevectrex
there was someone who posted a bunch of cib games where its either bin for average 40$, and bid for 30$. if you win the bid, not bad. im always checking ebay vectrex deals, so pretty much anything posted on this thread i will already have known about
Blazing Lazers
Oh jeez, yes, the Vectrex market is crazy right now. I had my eye on a CIB Narrow Escape that ended up going for almost $250: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 251214635021 and Crazy Coaster for almost the same: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 251209873316 and the same seller had a CIB Polar Rescue go for over $400: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 160944443832 btw, that seller (from Gordonsville, VA) has been selling a bunch of the rarer Vectrex stuff over the past few months going by the SOLD Vectrex listings. I suspect he found some NOS, but who knows for sure... Amazingly, apparently this other seller: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fmyworld.ebay.com%2Fnitromikee%3F_trksid%3Dp2047675.l2559 has indeed been selling quite a fair amount of brand new Vectrex systems and accessories, all of which are going for rather high prices and thus causing sellers of used Vectrex stuff to charge high prices for their stuff. Its affecting all of the games too- there's no way games like Scramble and Armor attack should be selling for over $40 shipped when just a year ago they could be had for under $25 shipped, and that's for complete copies. That all being said, there's still some good deals to be had, especially with lots as metioned above, but even more so with bargain priced BINs, such as the CIB mint copy of Star Castle I got a few months back for a $95 BIN. And this one auction for another CIB copy ended with a surpisingly low final bid: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 200874780772 Or how that Gordonsville seller put up a good condition CIB Lightpen for a mere $99 BIN: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 160941458462 So yeah, the Vectrex market has definitely been getting crazied up lately, but good deals can still be found and pounced on

Ataridroid
I have a Vextrex that is complete, but when turned on, it just has a white line across the screen, sound works though. You guys think I should just throw it on on eBay?

You guys think I should just throw it on on eBay? i think you should start a bid at 30-40$, sometimes people bid on it when its that much
