Is there a way to boost POKEY sound?

Use a different mod.

That answer reminds me of a joke about a helicopter pilot lost in the fog.

He dropped down and saw someone on a building and asked, "where am I?"

The person replied "in a helicopter.."

The pilot said "Thanx" and flew right to the airport.

The passenger was amazed and asked how he knew from that answer where he was..

The pilot said, "I knew I was as Microsoft, because that answer was technically accurate and totally useless."

:-)

p.s. I have a similar question a few threads below this one. I'm actually looking at trying to figure out how to drop the volume on the TIA line a bit (using a resistor or ??) rather than using a cap or something to raise the pokey volume.

Although the fix might involve changing how I get the audio as in some other mods..

It's tricky tho, as the mod information is a bit involved to get through. I'm still searching tho, so I'll let you know what I find..

Desiv is on the right track with the resistor. In order to balance out the TIA and Pokey you need to drop the volume on the TIA with a resistor. I don't know what the exact value would be because I don't have any pokey games but some people have said around 10k seems to work. You could always try using a 20k pot and adjusting it to what sounds best for you.
