yorxs
I just purchased a 7800 that plays any of the dozen 2600 games it came with without a hitch, but not any of the 7800 games it came with, 8 games in all. I've cleaned the console with canned air, and its hooked up to a CRT HDTV using the adapter that I bought from Radioshack so it can connect to the antenna in without a switchbox. When I plug in a 7800 game, the static goes away and I get a perfectly black screen, not even a hint of interference. I am suspecting this way of hooking up to the TV does not work with 7800 games? Also I've noticed some adjustment POTS inside the console, is adjustment ever needed since modern TV's do not have a fine tune knob anymore? Any ideas greatly appreciated. NIKON
If it plays the 2600 games then your TV connection is not the problem... see pic and see if there is corrosion at where the arrows are pointing to if there is corrosion then use alcohol and a small swab to remove the corrosion..take your time and try not to bend the pins. Armonigann
Yeah, canned air, alone will not do the trick. Get a card and cut it to fit the slot. Cover with an old T-shirt with alcohol and f%^k the slot with it.
