I am happy I just caught this one, as I had one a little higher but couldn't catch it before losing the screen. It really is a pretty big flaw when you think about it. I always thought this was a near perfect arcade port, but now, at least for competitive play like this, I'd drop it to an 8. It's about the single biggest flaw possible on a port of a score based arcade game. I have started to take pictures before the last life starts so that if I don't pause it in time after, at least that leaves me with something approaching my high score. Taking the pressure off there lets me get to the pause button no trouble ever since. I also have a video of my latest replay up here (low quality, sorry). I just double checked my numbers (and Oyama confirmed in the Motor Pshcho thread), and it looks like my numbers are correct. After week 4 Oyama had 47 points, the 23 for Galaga week (=70), plus 12 for Failsafe = 82 total. There may have been some confusion because I prematurely posted updated standings after week 2 of Failsafe, then posted the correct standings after week 3.
