Hi All

Since i've found a bug inside CPLD preventing bios update to work when launched using internal loader, i've fixed it

Also I wrote more verbose version of update ultility so noone should be left wondering whether update failed or succeeded

here are direct links:

JED file for CPLD programming

Forgive my ignorance, but how exactly do I get this XEX file to run on my system? I can't run it from SIDE (says I need to update the CPLD), and my SIO2PC program only does ATR images not XEX files. What program should I use to do this? I think the last time I used Spartados somehow, but someone else did it for me so I don't remember how.

Tempest, use AspeQT instead of sio2pc program you're using

Ok I tried to transfer the file, but it dumps me out in to SparataDOS and I can't seem to do anything after that. Is there a command I need to run then? I'm getting status like this:

Serial port speed set to 57600.

[AutoBoot] Read sector 1 (128 bytes).

[AutoBoot] Read sector 360 (128 bytes).

[AutoBoot] Get status.

[AutoBoot] command: $4e, aux: $0001 NAKed. [x16]

Serial port speed set to 19200.

ASPEQT 8.8

My boot Atari executable looks like this..

Yep that's what mine looks like. It seems to work.

You'll need to disable SDX to boot anything, if it's enabled.

Ok, now it says

"Not able to switch into SDX rom. Check BIOS Settings!"

Which is the whole reason I turned SDX on in the first place. :)

Oookay and this time it totally worked. I didn't do ANYTHING different (didn't even get to type anything in at the SDX prompt). Weird!

It says it flashed successfully, but how do I tell? Is there a version number command or anything?

Off topic, but for some reason the date command seems to think today is Sunday even though I put in the correct date (18-11-2013). Any way to fix that?

Is that a "no" to the previous question?

Yes, that would be a no. I never got to the SDX prompt. I just booted it like I did the last few times, but this time the flash utility said it found the chip, did a neat little color show, and said it flashed successfully.
