button order and rapid fire

Is the top button primary fire and the bottom button secondary fire ?

 

Reason I'm asking I made a digital controller PCB and want to make sure I wire it in the right way.

 

PCB can be used with any common ground arcade type controller. I plan to use it in the NeoGeoX controller, as it has space for the keypad between the joystick the buttons.

 

A = top button

B = bottom button

C+D = reset

Select = Pause

Start = Start

 

I might add in rapid fire circuit. Would any 5200 games benefit from this?

Should button C= top button with rapid fire?

Should button D=bottom button with rapid fire?

It's the other way around: The bottom fire buttons are usually the primary, and the top are the secondary.

i put a double pole double throw switch on one of my adapters cause sometimes you want to mix up the buttons say with moon patrol or choplifter like if my joystick is one with a trigger button i would want it to be shoot
