SoundGammon
Didn't think much about this before, but I noticed IMAGIC never made any 5200 games! I don't think they made that many 8-bit games either. Only Demon Attack comes to mind.
jaybird3rd
Imagic also produced Atari 800 versions of Atlantis, Wing War, Quick Step, and Laser Gates (the last three were bundled into the Imagic 1-2-3 compilation), but you're right: none of these were ever published for the 5200. Imagic was already supporting lots of other platforms, and the Atari 800 versions of Atlantis and Demon Attack are almost identical to the 2600 originals, so they may have decided that it wasn't worth it to publish 5200 versions. high voltage
They only managed about 8 or 9 C64 games and a few IBM games before they went belly up Edited December 24, 2013 by high voltage
mmervine
I know that Atlantis & Demon Attack have been converted from 8-bit to the 5200. Not sure about the others...

Greg2600
The 8-bit Atari versions were barely an upgrade from the 2600.
Lynxpro
Well, in fairness, how many of Activision's games for the 5200 were heads and shoulders above their 2600 originals? They certainly didn't knock their socks off for their 7800 releases later on...
Greg2600
Well that was some type of company policy from Activision. Imagic games on Intellivision and C64 look very detailed.

Is the source code available? If so, they could be improved...
Charlie_
I always thought when Activision made the games look different for C64 or Coleco that the games suffered for it. Some games are good across all platforms, like HERO, but some are just terrible, like Keystone Kapers on CV.
