goldenegg
I finally got around to picking up one of the Sega 3 button joysticks. It's in pretty much mint condition, with the exception that the joystick feels a little stiff (compared to others I've tried) and it squeaks when moving it.I haven't opened it yet to see how it's all working inside, but I was wondering if both these issues might be easily fixed with a quick spray of WD-40 around the joystick's ball joint. Before I went ahead and tried that, I figured I'd post here and a couple other forums where people likely have more experience repairing these. NIKON
NO WD 40!!! it will distort and dis color the plastic...get some powder graphite instead...but this is all AFTER a thorough cleaning
goldenegg
Ah yes ... I forgot about what WD-40 can do to plastic. Thanks for the reminder!
goldenegg
I just opened up the stick and found the culprit ... an old and slightly rusty spring. After cleaning it with a little DeoxIT, it's working great!
