Paul Westphal
My latest build is a 600xl with a new motherboard. Everything is fine but the shift keys either stick or don't work- intermittenly. I have taken the keyboard out several times and plugged it back in to no avail. All other keys work fine. Brad at best said something about a resistor...any thoughts are appreciated. By the way, the video sucks on these things!
ravard
Hey Paul. It's Chuck. I hope you get that puppy running as I really want a 600XL. And the s-video update would note be a problem.
Paul Westphal
Will do. svideo parts are ordered. I'll figure the keyboard out, and have another one coming just in case.
Paul Westphal
Brad at Best sent me another motherboard ( Chelco ), so the video problem has been fixed, but the SHAFT! key still acting up though. Too bad I had to spend another 9 bucks to ship the old one back. This 600xl is costing too much to build.
Paul Westphal
Fixed the kb problem and put 64k chips in it. A shift spring had strayed out of the assembly. S- video and possibly stereo next.
zylon
My gaming mule 600xl had a similar problem with the Esc key. I took the keyboard apart and reinstalled the screws from center outwards in both directions. The black plastic piece tends to warp and make contact where it shouldn't. Recently did 64k mod to this one as well.
