Wico controller does not go down.

So I just scored a Wico controllerwith the Y adapter, however the Wico control does not seem to go down itgoes left right up and the fire button works beautifully, but down seems to be a problem. Does anyone know what might be going on? I rather not crack it open unless I have to

Without seeing the inside, it's likely that there's a loose wire. That's been a problem with a couple of controllers I acquired.

Thank you I cracked it open I wonder if I'm having problems with my machine because when I try my other controllers doesn't seem to register moving right. I wonder if there's a problem with the machine and with the wico. Maybe my machine can't register right and the controller cannot register down things are getting really funky

Try adjusting the controller pot inside the 5200 as described here:

I just got the stick to work on my 2-port :-). I followed the instructions thanks, now there appears to be trouble in paradise with my 4-port but that's another issue. Thank you :-)
