starwindz
If you are having problems with the command line on games with an apostrophe put the filename in quotes "" and it should work fine. Thank you very much for your advice. I'll check it out.
Mclaneinc
@Starwindz Here's the infocom stuff but there's some bad news, I have not had the time to strip out all the Atari bits so its ALL of the maps etc for all of their releases, each game is in its own folder so you'll have to pick out the bits that apply to the Atari games. As said, thank fully they are all in their own folders so its not a big job. Sorry I've not done it for you but I'm not very well at the moment and its also the school break time here and I have to take my daughter out as its her holidays. https://www.mediafire.com/?gfb7i7zqx0d5gfp

Mclaneinc
Very odd, can't find a thing about .gmp files, well I found a global mapping thing dut that did not recognise them, very strange, any one know of this format, seen lots of requests about it but no software. Found it, GUEMap...... Need to dig more.. Right, they are not pictures, they are maps for use with a utility which I've enclosed I expect it can work from a command line as well.. Also, you do need to use this program as the maps have clickable places that contain needed text.... gmp_2rc1.zip Edited August 21, 2014 by Mclaneinc

Mclaneinc
My pleasure, if you notice on the maps in that program there are rooms with red dots, if you double click on them it tells you additional info about that room..

AHA
having spent sevral hours playing with this all i can say is WELL DONE still a few games missing but its getting there and its nice to have a mame like feel to the gui, also love the little extras, your efforts show in this quality product! Mclaneinc
@AHA, the next update is rather massive and you have me mostly to blame, I hope I've introduced a lot of the missing needed games but if you feel a game needs to be part of the GB then do as others have done and add it to the thread. Have a look at a few posts above to see what has been added but not released as yet, you may find the games you mean are on that.. Huge thanks to Starwindz for spending so much of his time in creating the gamebase front end and adding features that people have asked for.. starwindz
@Mclaneinc Could you please let me know the correct command line options of Altirra and Atari800WinPlus for running the attached game(Galaxy)? Mclaneinc
Its Galaxy by Avlon Hill Its needs BASIC and to be run with CLOAD from basic I'll see if I can work around it Edit: Seems this one will require human intervention.. Set the machine to XL mode the best way seems to use the command line altirra /basic /nocasautoboot galaxy.cas Then after the ready prompt comes up the user would have to type RUN"CLOAD The game would then load and automatically run.. Unless Avery fancies adding a command line CLOAD option Btw Avery, thanks for the cheats file addition, just saw it.. Now looking at how Atari800win would load galaxy Edited August 24, 2014 by Mclaneinc
Mclaneinc
Not having much luck with Atari800win & Galaxy I'd make this an Altirra only game..
Triads
@Mclaneinc Could you please let me know the correct command line options of Altirra and Atari800WinPlus for running the attached game(Galaxy)? Here is Galaxy! (BASIC) as a bootable ATR. You will need to set the disk/drive to R/W or Virtual R/W since it does allow for saving. This game does not have the best error handling. Good luck. LidLikesIntellivision
When playeing H.E.R.O. and Jungle Hunt I dind't lose any life after dying... It happens with altirra and Atari800Win plus. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, I'm new to the atari computers and emulators but I couldn't find any cheat setting to disable. I'm guessing those roms are modified... EDIT -- Same with Pitfall. Maybe all Activision games? EDIT2 --> No. I lost lives and got game over in Beamrider. In Dreadnaught Factor I, the ship is blinking and missiles don't harm it, enemy ships destroys it though. Now I'm guessing I pressed some key and some cheat is active. Mclaneinc
Thanks Triads, that saves a load of hassle....Didn't have it in my collection either so a double win. @Starwindz The Altirra command line for this disk would be Altirra /basic /bootrw galaxy.atr Sadly you would need to tell the user to enable disk read writes under the disk drives menu For atari800win atari800win -basic galaxy.atr @LidLikesIntellivision, I'll have to check those files, maybe cheat versions were used by accident Edited August 25, 2014 by Mclaneinc
