Mclaneinc
Just playing with the SAP player, Chopper Rescue has Axel F from Beverly Hills cop which is obviously the wrong tune and there's no sap for it out there. Edit: There is its called Air_Rescue_I.sap Also should the player not terminate when the game starts? Also please Add Henri as a game, there are saps for both Henri and Chop Suey in the ASMA collection for Saps, they are under the Composers section under Billyard_Adam Also I'm just going thru all the games without saps in the Gamebase and putting them in a zip for you to make it easier.. Asteroids is wrong music, there is no ingame music or title music. Game Bang! Bank! is wrong name, its Bank! Bang! Mclaneinc
Past edit time.. Found a bug in the GUI where if a game has less in game screens than the one chosen to look at before then it shows a screen from a previous game that did have more screens. Example, look at Crystal Raider and then look at CTetris...One of the crystal raider screens is still there. Jest Set Willy game not found.. Labyrinth SAP is wrong..No other out there..(the one there is a Ghosts and goblins tune) Says Mighty Jill off isn't supported by any emulator yet it works fine in Altirra.. Mclaneinc
Sidewinder is semi protected still, needs to have SIO patch turned off to allow right speed load or it fails and just loops..
Mclaneinc
Finally, here are all the missing SAPS from the games on the Database, all checked and a few very nice tunes in there.. starwindz
@Mclaneinc Thank you very much again for your kind advice. Now I have made some kind of issue list, question and comments to fix issues shown as follows. I. Add/Delete/Modify list 1. Game 1) Add: Henri 2) Rename: Bang! Bank! -> Bank! Bang! 3) Fix to run: Mighty Jill off 4) Fix to run: Sidewinder 2. Extra 1) Screenshot add: CTetris (Gameplay) 3. SAP 1) Tune remove: Chopper Rescue 2) Tune remove: Asteroids 3) Tune remove: Labyrinth 4) Tune add: Air Rescue I 5) Tune add: Henri 6) Tune add: New saps from Saps.rar 7) Feature add: Right mouse click on music icon to stop playing tune II. Question 1. How to have SIO patch turned off to run sidewinder? III. Comments 1. I think Jet Set Willy game is already included in the 1.1.6 update. Please check it out. 2. SAP player terminate when the game starts.
Mclaneinc
To turn off the SIO patch use this command line Altirra /nosiopatch The CTetris screen shot is a bug in the GUI, if there's on 1 or 2 screenshots then instead of inserting a blank screen it uses the last game looked at that has 3 screens and displays that in the 3rd box.. There are other games that are short on screens so you see the bug in numerous places.. As said, to see it in effect look at Crystal Raider and then go to the next game which is CTetris and you will still see one of the Crystal Raider screens in the 3rd panel.. So adding a screen shot to CTetris will only fix that game where there are others that will do the same, needs some of your magic coding to check how many screenshots there are and blank panels where there isn't enough to fill all the panels. My next thing is to list all the PAL games that are set to NTSC, games like 180 are running way too fast because its NTSC and you must have a genemu pair keys to over ride the Video setting in Options on the GUI. davidmt
Starwindz and all. I just wanted to thank your for releasing this incredible project. I am a newcomer to the Atari computers (being a Commdore guy since I was 13) and this seems like a perfect way to jump in. I discovered the Antic podcast and that generated my interest in learning more about the Atari. My only experience with them was playing around with them in department stores when I was a kid (Lechmere in New England USA, anyone familiar?). I also owned a 5200 and I know it shared hardware with the computer line and ported many games. I especially love that you and the community are voting and picking the "good" games to play. There are Gamebase collections for the Commodore but it is such a free for all. Most of the titles are there for historical purposes and very hard to sift though to find the gems. I appreciate the work put into this. I'll be following this project and hope to see its continued development! Mclaneinc
Obviously if people think there's missing games they consider great games then just post here to Starwindz, as part of the team I'm working through the gamebase in sections to add bits here and there (well I find them. Starwindz adds them) and I'll get to the actual quality games very soon, there are some really top games not in it (yet) butas it stands it showcases most of the Atari 8bit classics from then and now in a fantastic frontend. @Starwindz, how about just pausing the sap player when the emulator starts or doing that and adding the ability to stop the sap at any time. starwindz
@Starwindz, how about just pausing the sap player when the emulator starts or doing that and adding the ability to stop the sap at any time. Mclaneinc
I'll rephrase one of the additions, "Add more games recommended by Mclaneinc" AND anyone else If you see a classic new or old game that is missing PUT IT ON THE THREAD, yes its a best of gamebase but if a game was a real fave that kept you and others playing then mention it. Obviously we are trying to keep it to the best of the genres but there's always a good selection of really good games in each that deserve a place in the GB.
