Stevaside
Can anybody confirm that they will work? I'd like to pick up a 9ft pair I saw online soon, but vaguely remember someone telling me they wont work with the 7800 joypads Thanks
Trebor
Can anybody confirm that they will work? I'd like to pick up a 9ft pair I saw online soon, but vaguely remember someone telling me they wont work with the 7800 joypads Thanks Unless these are "out of the ordinary" extension cables, they do (should) not modify controller mappings. The same '2600' extension cable will work for the 7800, ColecoVision, Sega Genesis, C64, Atari 8-bit computers, etc.
Bodyshots
Yes they will work. You may check out this link and look at # 10. http://www.atariage.com/7800/faq/?SystemID=7800
mckafka99
Tired of plugging in and unplugging controllers into my 7800, I recently went with the switch box and cable below to enable switching between a Space Invaders modded for 7800 controller, a Starplex controller, a regular Atari Joystick and a set of paddles. Apart from having to shave a bit of the top of the end of the connector that plugs into the 7800, this setup is working like a charm. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4Male-1Female-DB9-pin-Serial-RS232-4way-ABCD-manual-cable-cord-wire-Switch-Box-F-/301211831363?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item46219fcc43 http://www.ebay.com/itm/6ft-DB9pin-Male-Female-Extension-Serial-RS232-Straight-Through-Cable-Cord-SHdisc-/301221731291?pt=US_Parallel_Serial_PS_2_Cables_Adapters&hash=item462236dbdb
Stevaside
Thanks...I wouldn't think there would be a problem, but I was sure someone once told me they might not work for with the joypads for some reason..Just wanted to be sure to avoid the hassle of having to ship back an item. ..Thats's a cool idea BTW, I never thought of that....be nice to have the ease of just hitting a switch to choose between joysticks, paddles & the other controllers
