GlowingGhoul
Which FPGA system offers the best Atari 8-Bit experience? miST is optimized for the ST, Chamelean for the C64, and minimig for the Amiga though they can all run the Atari 8-bit core. We could really use an Atari 8-Bit specific one with cartridge ports and SIO, but in the meantime which of these (or others) works the best? foft
Small correction - there is no minimig version I'm aware of. Cores are available for MIST, MCC216, Turbo Chameleon 64, Replay and DE1. There are also versions for Aeon lite and MCCTV - though not yet part of the standard build. Questions: I) How much do you want to spend? ii) Do you want to solder your own connectors? iii) What other cores do you want to use? iv) VGA, Svideo, hdmi or composite out? + lots more Edited September 27, 2014 by foft

I'd pay up to ~$400 for an FPGA system with Atari 8-bit specific ports. (full disclosure, I have a Chameleon 64 and soon a miST) II.No. III.On that system, I wouldn't have to run any other cores, though it would be great to be able to have 2600,5200,7800 cores on the same system) Iv: VGA at a minimum, but VGA and Composite would be ideal for me. Built in scanline generation would be great.
