IceCold Posted March 22, 2003 Share Posted March 22, 2003 I can't find the information on how to make a Sega Genesis controller have 2 of the buttons as the 2 seperate buttons for 7800 games. In the FAQ, it gives a link to a site which just lists parts? I don't really want to make an adapter as much as just modify the pad. It seems like it would be pretty easy, can anybody help me? I personally know very little about electronics. I once had a class in Electronics but that was 5 years ago and I barely remember anything. Funny thing, I was looking at a picture showing how to wire the firebuttons for a 7800 controller, and the way it was drawn, looked like in order to use a 7800 controller on the 2600, you pushed both buttons. I don't know, maybe it was just confusing or something. Actually, I was the one that started the topic , and yes, I was talking about both firebuttons. But by what kepone said, I thought he might not know you can at least use it on 2600, so I thought I'd make sure he knew. The modification is more complicated than I thought it would be, I thought all it would be was soldering a wire to a different spot or something small like that. Video Posted March 25, 2003 Share Posted March 25, 2003 Well, I don't know about genesis pads. But from my understanding, It's probably like a Nintendo pad mod. You open the controller, desolder the chips, and wires. From there it gets complicated though. :/ I don't remember how it's done, but It's probably simular to a NES pad mod.
