How do I modify a Genesis pad to have 2 buttons for 7800?

I can't find the information on how to make a Sega Genesis controller have 2 of the buttons as the 2 seperate buttons for 7800 games. In the FAQ, it gives a link to a site which just lists parts? :? I don't really want to make an adapter as much as just modify the pad. It seems like it would be pretty easy, can anybody help me?

If somebody ever wants to do something like this, I'd definitely pay to have a Genny pad of mine modified for a 7800 or a 2600.

I personally know very little about electronics. I once had a class in Electronics but that was 5 years ago and I barely remember anything.

It needs no modifying for 2600, just press b to fire...

and it will work without modification on 7800, but only 1 button.

I think they're wanting it to have both A and B firebuttons.

Funny thing, I was looking at a picture showing how to wire the firebuttons for a 7800 controller, and the way it was drawn, looked like in order to use a 7800 controller on the 2600, you pushed both buttons. I don't know, maybe it was just confusing or something.

Actually, I was the one that started the topic ;) , and yes, I was talking about both firebuttons. But by what kepone said, I thought he might not know you can at least use it on 2600, so I thought I'd make sure he knew. :)

The modification is more complicated than I thought it would be, I thought all it would be was soldering a wire to a different spot or something small like that.

Well, I don't know about genesis pads. But from my understanding, It's probably like a Nintendo pad mod.

You open the controller, desolder the chips, and wires. From there it gets complicated though. :/ I don't remember how it's done, but It's probably simular to a NES pad mod.
