Shift838
I have seen a few of these for sale here in there, should have snagged one when I had the chance. Does anyone have MunchMan II on disk or a .bin file we could load up in Classic99 ? I would like to have it on both if I could find it so I can run it from one of my 64k cart boards and in classic 99 from EA, etc.. sometimes99er
In Classic99 choose Cartridge, then User and finally Open... Then find and open the above file. Edit: Module above found at WHTech. Edited December 3, 2014 by sometimes99er
Shift838
thank you. now if I can find the EA#5 version that would be great.
sometimes99er
ftp://ftp.whtech.com./games/John%20Phillips%20games%20&%20source%20code/MUNCH2.DSK I guess someone can make an EA5 out of the EA3 there (muncho).
atrax27407
The easiest way that I have found to convert an EA3 file into an EA5 file is to use the Mechatronic Eprommer software. You can load either one into it and then SAVE the "EPROM" and it will save as an EA5 file. The only restrictions are that it must be no longer than 8K and must not use any external routines. Of course, you could use the FSAVE program included in the F'WEB package.
+InsaneMultitasker
A program I used quite often in the past was called EA3TOEA5. I think it was written by Erik Olson though I would need to find the disk to confirm. You loaded the EA3 file into memory and it gave you 3 or 4 options to save as a program image. You could also choose to include the EA utilities and DSRLNK as part of the program. It wasn't foolproof but it did a pretty good job of converting what I encountered. There are also other ways to 'convert' from EA3 to EA5, such as using the RAG linker.
+Lee Stewart
Or—you could use the Editor/Assembler’s SAVE utility described on p. 420 (§24.5) of the EA manual. Or, the easier “Make” option of the Classic99 debugger. ...lee
Shift838
Never tried to convert it via Classic99. But it runs via EA #5.. attached is the dsk image file in SS/SD 90k (360 sectors) format. 'MUNCHMAN21' is the first file.. EA #5 Works so far for me, i have played a couple of levels and no bomb outs yet. File attached updated using RAG Linker as suggested by Lee. +acadiel
Rag Linker should take an EA/3 and make an EA/5 out of it. Works rather well, too. No pointers need to be set or anything like the SAVE utility. It works pretty awesome. Just get the disk image and use it in Classic99. Shift838
I will see if I can find the Rag Linker on the FTP. I know there is a RAG directory maybe it's in there.
Shift838
is it called the Assembler Linker on the FTP? /programming/Assembler/Macro Assembler-Linker/raglinker.ark
Shift838
I found the linker and it works, but it creates a 32 sector size file and then a 1 sector size file. Is there an option to make the files combine to a single 33 sector size file?

You're one sector over that. ...lee
Shift838
Disk image attached, it has been updated with RAG Linker as suggested by Lee. Works great. EA #5.. First file 'MUNCHM21' MUNCHMAN2.dsk

First file 'MUNCHM21' With all the chatter about how to do it, I can see how you might confuse the source —but, @acadiel actually was the one who suggested RAG Linker. BTW, it is also a piece of cake with Classic99 debugger’s “Make” option. ...lee

sometimes99er
I like the relatively relevant chatter. Nice to know where one can jump the fence.
jaybird3rd
Munchman II is a great sequel to the original Munchman! I put it on a cartridge a few years ago so I could play it on the original hardware: I burned the 8K ROM image onto a 2764 EPROM and installed it in a modified Munchman cartridge, since that board has a 24-pin DIP footprint. +acadiel
Would you happen to still have that cartridge, or information on how you modified the original MunchMan cart? I am curious. Probably did something similar to the below; the 28 pin ones can very easily fit into the 24 pin socket with the addition of some jumpers and/or board cuts. Atrax has done it before. http://symlink.dk/nostalgia/c64/rom/
