F4LL3N
Hi all, So I may be moving from the UK to NZ in the next couple of years due to my girlfriend's work. I know both countries are PAL, but different types. I'd like to take my games collection with me rather than start all over again if possible. I have mainly old consoles - my newest one being a Wii, but mostly consists of the 2600, Mega Drive, Jaguar, Saturn, C64 etc. Will I be able to buy games in NZ and play them on my UK consoles and vice versa? Anybody had any experience with this? Thanks for all your help F4||3N
Imperious
UK, Australia, NZ are all PAL countries. You shouldn't have any problems at all there.
Imperious
It won't let me edit the previous post. UK is Pal I, Aus and NZ is Pal G. Just make sure You are not using RF output for any of Your devices and You will be ok.

The main thing was game compatibility due to different PALs, but if they will work it will make my life easier.
Imperious
All decent brand tv's will let You select PAL I or G and even NTSC if You need it, so You shouldn't have a problem. The issue with RF years ago was that people that brought TV's over from the UK ended up with only UHF channels and no sound as Our TV sets used 5.5mhz for the audio subcarrier and UK is 6mhz. Interesting. Thanks for the information. I knew the TVs would generally be OK - didn't know if there would be an issue with the consoles themselves - but all good to know
