sonicboom81
Hey I just bought a 7800 off eBay and somehow ended up with about 50 games for it. My problem is that the RF signal is pretty bad. Not bad like my Mega Drive and Master System RF signals, which look like you'd expect. The 7800 is more washed out colours, and has quite a lot of colour bleeding/ghosting (I'm not sure which) on the right side of all brighter colours. I know some would be expected, but it's pretty bad. I've tried three different RF cables (all standard/cheaper ones), and two different HDTVs. I've fine tuned one of the TVs, and played about with the colour settings, but still have a bad picture quality. I don't have a CRT TV to try it on. Is this normal for the 7800, due to it's age? I'm looking to mod it for better picture quality, but I am pretty much new to that sort of thing. I know it's not expensive to do it yourself, if you know how, and I have access to all the tools needed, but is it pretty straight forward?I'm in the UK, and I'd maybe prefer to send it to someone to mod if anyone provides that service. Noah98
Mine RF signal was bad too compared with my other classic consoles. It was not an easy mod, but I was a beginner too and it worked out fine. I just took it slow. I ordered this one, which was very affordable and followed the excellent directions on his site: http://www.coolretroprojects.com/Guides-How-To.html
sonicboom81
Thanks. I watched a Youtube vid which looks like a different method: I had a look at the instructions on that site you posted, and I didn't realise that the PAL console is a bit different inside. Looks pretty straight forward. Is there any reason to do the three lead composite mod compared to the two?
