AtariBrian
The other day my SMS quit powering on . I tried two different power supplies so that is ruled out . Anyone have this same experience ? On this site it seems to be an easy fix . Any feedback would be appreciated . http://fami-complex.blogspot.com/2012/03/how-to-repair-sega-master-system.html
Papa
If it's the power switch you can swap out one from an old NES. Some use the same switch.
AtariBrian
Well I have yet to learn how to solder but that site is saying that the issue is just the voltage regulator .
zylon
soldering needed to replace the regulator as well. needs a 7805 with a decent rating. Sometimes they just die, other times they make the colors change on screen after running a while.
Oge
Replace the 7805 with a 7805CV and the big electrolitic capacitor with a fresh one. Cheers, Oge
