StephenJ
Hi all, Since my favorite controller is the Wii Classic, I thought how great it would be to have adapters so that I could use it with other systems like the NES, SNES, Genesis, etc.. Been searching the net for such adapters but with no success. Anybody seen such a thing? Thanks, StephenJ

Thanks, StephenJ If you are handy you could take the controller chip out of the nes or snes controller and just rewire it by hand. It would be a PITA but it would work well I'm sure. StephenJ
Unfortunately that's a bit beyond my capabilities. Thanks anyway
CPUWIZ
The Wii controller talks I2C and uses 3.3V, not terribly easy to do, you'd need power conversion and a micro controller.
StephenJ
"...you'd need power conversion and a micro controller...."Crap...When I decided to start this thread, I was hoping it was just going to be a couple connectors and re-routing some wires! Eric D
Hi all, Since my favorite controller is the Wii Classic, I thought how great it would be to have adapters so that I could use it with other systems like the NES, SNES, Genesis, etc.. Been searching the net for such adapters but with no success. Anybody seen such a thing? Thanks, StephenJ I do know that there is a mod that you can use with the PC that is blue tooth related (if you'd like to take that route one day, I.E. emulation) but the same goes with other consoles...if not for some major rewiring, I bet if you could figure out how to hook up a bluetooth receiver to a console (you'd need something to transfer data from the receiver to the console port, this I have no idea how to do) you would be able to do it. As far as all that...you would have to do it for EACH console...meaning it could get costly and annoying at times. Unless you find mind having it wired up...then i'm sure there are ways to reconfigure the port with a USB style port and rewire the controller so "X" signal pings to "X Receiver" signal. I'm no engineer, nor PCB board wizard, so I can only provide advice! But good luck on your adventures and be sure to post pictures or a video if you end up pulling this off or have someone else mod it!
StephenJ
I'll make a point to post any discoveries to this thread. StephenJ
mulcmu
https://hackaday.io/project/7944-at26-chuck This was for wii nunchuck controller to atari joystick but classic controller uses same connector and i2c bus. Code for the microcontroller would need to be revised. Looks like there are some arduino libraries that exist for reading the classic i2c commands.
