0078265317
I remember reading long time ago here but forget. Which games will start without keypad. Are there any that will start by just pressing the fire button. I am testing a broken wico so I need to know. GameGirl420
Mr.Do's Castle you can start by pressing the fire buttons. I think most Parker Brothers games for the 5200 are like that.
0078265317
Only parker brothers I have are frogger and qbert.
namedjughead
I can confirm that Star Wars Arcade, also a Parker Brothers title, will start by just pressing the fire button.
0078265317
Thanks for the reply. Do's castle is exensive. Cheapest starwars is 13 + 4 shipping on amazon. Don't know if that is fair. Frogger or qbert anyone know if those start with fire.

0078265317
Sound good. I will buy buck rogers. Sounds fun. But its 9 dollars on ebay. Not bad but there is also a CIB for 14 very good shape box. Is it worth the 5 dollars extra for collectors sake?
bohoki
if you send the adapter i'll put a start button on it i have extras they dont cost nothin
0078265317
I am out of town now. So I will try the buck rogers first. But is the CIB worth 5 dollars extra. There is even a 24 dollar CIB. Or plain loose cart is good enough.
0078265317
So what should I get. The CIB or the loose cart.
ave1
I have mostly loose 5200 carts in my collection and have no regrets... but you could be different when it comes to that. Just spend the extra money and get the box if you are somewhat bothered by having loose carts in your collection.
0078265317
Its more for collectors sake. If buck rogers is common then its not worth it.
namedjughead
Thanks for the reply. Do's castle is exensive. Cheapest starwars is 13 + 4 shipping on amazon. Don't know if that is fair. Frogger or qbert anyone know if those start with fire. I picked up my copy of Star Wars on eBay last week for 6.50 + 3.50 shipping. There are still good prices to be found if you're willing to dig. Edited September 29, 2015 by namedjughead

0078265317
Or is there any way to tell before buying just by looking if all pins are wired like in this or not? http://www.ebay.com/itm/PC-joystick-splitter-cable-15-way-for-analogue-port-y-splitter-2-way-sharing-/391167232671?hash=item5b13624a9f Or in this adapter? http://www.l-com.com/d-sub-db15-y-splitter-adapter-db15m-db15f-db15f#
bohoki
the pc y adapter takes 2 joysticks and puts them on one port see the top row is joystick one the bottom is joystick 2 so the one end of the y passes through the top row and the other connnects the top row to the bottom the pc standard is 4 axis and 4 buttons
0078265317
But my radioshack y cable never worked with my atari 5200. And my generic 6 foot from ebay works. So not all plins are wired in some.
0078265317
Just found this old thread. This page 4:20pm post picture. So db9 to 15 is not impossible. Now we just need to solder another 15 pin on it. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/171339-digital-joysticks-provide-better-control-than-analog-joysticks/page-15 Edited October 13, 2015 by 0078265317
