What's up with the 2600 Lite Sixer that seems to have multiple Left & Right audio outputs connected to it? It's the console that has the CX80 connected to it in the pics.

 

I've wondered about whether you could do something like that…say, splitting it to where you could have external sound output while also installing speakers inside the Heavy/Lite Sixer cases and do both. I suppose you'd also need a larger capacity power supply too.

This system has been modified with stereo audio output, composite video output, and s-video output. The s-video output not only has, but also has separate chroma and luminance outputs in the form of two RCA jacks. This allows direct connection to the chroma/luminance jacks on the back a Commodore 1701/1702 monitor. In the above photo, one of the cables is for audio, the other is for video. Nearly all the 2600, 5200 and 7800 systems I used at the show had both composite and s-video output.

Well, that explains it!

 

What about those awesome Atari brand labels stuck atop the [hated] Commodore logo on some of those 1702s? :)
