oBlitterator
Hello Atari world. I just acquired a 1040stf, and haven't even removed it from the box yet. Also acquired a presumably nos 520 mobo, and I assume the main boards are more or less interchangeable. Anyway can the typical parallel printer be made to work with these? Ones intended for PC's that is. Are there bare bones drivers available to get basic printing tasks done? Many thanks in advance.
Christos
Yes. If you can find a parallel port printer.
galax
Yes the ST could talk to standard parallel printers. Drivers will different be for each program (unless the program uses GDOS), so you might have more luck with some programs than others. I've even had my ST printing from my HP Laserjet using a parallel-> USB conversion box. The main boards are likely interchangable, they could differ thoughif your main board has a modulator (TV out), or no internal floppy, or is an STE. The 520 of course has less RAM than the 1040.
