I seem to remember someone coming up with a cart-based RAM disk that used battery backed RAM. Considering the capacity of present Flash memory I can't help but feel that something useful could be done with them ... e.g. new utility software on flash cart that can be updated when new upgrades are released, long-term backups and so forth.
